So according to my one of my previous posts I was supposed to take a MGMAT practice test on 12th June. That never happened. Instead I took a practice test on 14th June. I came back from office around 5.30PM, took a shower, ate and then started the test around 6.15PM. And I scored 660(Q43, V37). This is annoying. My quant killed my score again. I really need to work out some better timing strategy.
In quant I spend around 25 minutes on first 10 questions. There was one particular question where I spent 6.17 minutes. I got it right but that was a guess. Later when I was going through all the wrong questions and all the right ones that took me more than 1.50 minutes, I discovered I was able to do all of them without any difficulty in less than 1.50 minutes. I am willing to conclude that I have my fundamentals right but just need to practice more and keep my mantle in time pressure. I did so many small arithmetic mistakes. During my first 2 or 3 practice tests I used to be stumped by the quant questions. I didn’t have any clue how to approach them. For last two tests I had clear idea how to do these questions. So that is some relief.
For verbal section, I did alright. I had my first 10 questions right and finished them under 21 minutes. Six of them were CR questions. That used to be my weakest section in verbal but not anymore. Overall I got only 1 CR question wrong. I am happy with that performance. As usual RC got me and funny enough it is 500-600 level questions that got me instead of 700-800 level questions. Anyway I have read in few posts on GMATClub that MGMAT’s verbal section is little easier than the actual GMAT so I should prepare myself. I have kept 20 questions of each section from OG as a last week practice, which is next week.
I am taking another practice test tomorrow. This is GMAT Prep T2. I am hoping to get back on my target of 740 (Q49 V44). I know mentally it is going to be a challenge after two abysmal scores. I will keep you posted people.

I am generally on this blog only, I am in the process of outlining another blog on cultural assimilation in US. Why?
